Lighten Traffic two-component road marking paint is a cold plastic road marking material that combines two different components through a chemical cross-linking reaction, solidifying without solvent evaporation. During production, components A and B are separately packaged. On-site, during road construction, a curing agent is added to components A and B, and they are mixed in a 98:2 or 1:1 ratio using specialized equipment for spraying or application. The resulting road markings undergo a chemical reaction and cure to a dry state.

How to do Cold Paints Road Markings with Two-component Cold Paints?

  1. Divide the two-component road marking paint into components A and B. Add a curing agent to component B and mix thoroughly before application.
  2. Ensure a clean road surface, free from debris, and avoid open flames.
  3. Keep components A and B in separate containers and mix them in a specific ratio at the spray gun. Apply the mixture to the road surface, where a chemical reaction occurs.
  4. The drying time of the paint film depends on the amounts of components A and B, curing agent, surface temperature, and air temperature, not the thickness of the paint.
  5. Drying time is approximately 30 minutes above 25°C and around 60 minutes below 20°C.
  6. Do not mix components A and B, and keep equipment and pipelines separate for each component.
  7. Promptly clean the equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  8. If the curing agent is accidentally added to component A, discard the paint to avoid equipment blockages.
  9. After adding the curing agent, component B can be stored for one to two days at room temperature (23°C-25°C) and only a few hours at temperatures above 55°C. Use component B promptly after adding the curing agent.
